Founded in 2009 and later restructured as a partnership, Legato works on a simple principle: senior lawyers, dealing with clients directly, on matters where both Mongolian regulatory knowledge and international standards are required.

Our lawyers hold degrees from universities abroad and have served within Mongolia’s ministries, courts and state institutions — experience that lets us advise not only on what the law says, but on how the authorities our clients deal with actually apply it.

We draft and negotiate in English and Russian as well as Mongolian, to the standard our international clients expect, while staying close enough to the local environment to anticipate how a matter will develop.

Our lawyers studied abroad and have worked inside Mongolia’s ministries and courts. That matters, because knowing the text of a law is not the same as knowing how a regulator or a judge will apply it. We work fluently in English and Russian, as well as Mongolian.
